Web Standard

Introduction

The Internet is like a chaos. Everyone have its own proprietary standards, for example, the browser-specific HTML tag, the browser-specific JavaScript (or JScript for IE). W3C is an non-profit organization devoted to develop interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential.

See also WebBrowser, for a list of standards compliance browsers; NoIE, for why you should say "No" to IE now; CSS, for more layouting issue using CSS instead of table or frame; HTML and the more recently XHTML for the fundamental markup language of the web; XML, for info about XML; XForms, for more about the next generation web forms; and SMIL for simple authoring of interactive audiovisual presentations.
